What Makes It Great:

Fiebing’s Pro Resist is one of those shop staples you’ll reach for again and again if you’re working with antique finish or high-contrast tooling. It acts as a protective barrier to keep your antique from staining areas you don’t want darkened, all while locking in a subtle, water-resistant topcoat that brings depth to your detail work.

Key Specs:

  • Bottle Sizes Available: 4oz, 32oz

  • Finish: Semi-gloss

  • Application: Sponge or brush on, let dry before antique or topcoat

  • Best Used With: Antique paste or gel finishes

Best For:

If you’re doing any sort of floral tooling, stamping, or decorative carving where you want crisp contrast without muddying your leather, this is what you’re after. It helps antique paste settle into the low spots while keeping the high spots clean and bright.

Pro Resist is also a solid choice for adding a layer of water resistance and giving your work a more finished look without overpowering the natural grain. You can still follow up with a topcoat like RTC or Leather Balm if you want to build more protection or sheen.

Let dry fully before moving on to antique or dye steps. Not suitable as a stand-alone sealant for heavy-use pieces like belts or wallets unless reinforced with a topcoat.
