Why You'll Love it
This is a modified version of Hermann Oak’s 1881 leather, built just a little stiffer for better structure in bags, gear, and larger builds. It’s still smooth, clean, and easy to work with, but has just enough body to hold shape where you need it. Oh, and it’s fully water resistant too.

More About This Product:
We loved the original 1881 leather from Hermann Oak, but wanted something just a bit firmer for structured builds. They delivered with this version. The water just beads right up and wipes off clean, and the surface still has that nice natural veg tan look we all love.
It skives well, cuts clean, and sews up without issue. We’ve used it for bags, upholstery panels, and strap builds with great results. If you want the strength and reliability of Hermann Oak with a bit more backbone and water resistance, this is a winner. You can check out our quick video breakdown of the leather [HERE].
