This stuff is so cool! The good folks at HO sent us one of the 1881 Sides to see what we thought and we love it... However, I asked them if they could stiffen it up just a bit to make some bags and projects out of it that will not be so floppy! So, VOILA! Expedition leather is born. All of the greatness of 1881 but the rigidity of a nice oil or chromex leather. It skives and sews well. Sides are 5-6oz and average 24 square feet. THE COOLEST PART OF THIS LEATHER IS WATER AND OTHER LIQUIDS JUST SIT RIGHT ON TOP OF IT. It has such a natural and smooth appearance but it repels water unlike anything I've ever seen. Perfect for upholstery, bags, furniture projects, or ANYTHING else that might have a lot of wear and risk of getting wet. These leathers will render your project truly a work of art! All of our Hermann Oak leather is A and B grade.
