Why You’ll Love It:

This is the dye most leathercrafters start with, and for good reason. Fiebing’s Leather Dye gives rich, even coverage that penetrates deep into veg-tan leather for long-lasting color that doesn’t flake or peel. Whether you’re dyeing belts, wallets, sheaths or saddlework, this stuff gets the job done clean and consistent.

Key Specs:

  • Type: Alcohol-based leather dye

  • Bottle Sizes Available: 4oz

  • Application: Sponge, dauber, airbrush or brush

  • Finish: Penetrating dye with matte to semi-gloss result

  • Compatible With: Natural veg-tan leather only

Things to Know Before You Buy:

This dye is meant to soak into the leather and will slightly darken once a topcoat is added. Always test your color on a scrap piece first if you’re trying to match something specific. We recommend using a protective topcoat like Resolene or Tan-Kote after the dye dries to lock in the color and prevent rub-off. It is alcohol-based, so it dries fast and absorbs deep, but it’s not made for use on chrome-tan or finished leathers.

Also, like most alcohol-based dyes, this stuff is flammable and a little goes a long way, so store it safely and recap it tight.
